to connect students & advance research

There has never been greater momentum in technological innovation at West Chester University than exists today. With great strides in classroom connectivity, research support, and new, future-focused facilities, our students are poised to enter the workforce better equipped to lead their communities.

“Access to new technologies, including high-fidelity mannequins, healthcare informatics, and digital recording platforms will ensure students in health science disciplines are prepared to meet the needs of 21st century front line workers.”

A leap forward for the health sciences

With The Sciences and Engineering Center, West Chester University is building an unprecedented facility for the next generation of healthcare students. Its Duey Immersive Learning Center creates realistic patient response environments — including hospital and home care settings — enhancing an already robust academic curriculum. With VALT simulation software for capturing, streaming, and searching video content, students and faculty can collaborate beyond the classroom.

Additionally, the Duey Biomedical Engineering Center, along with our newly launched Biomedical Engineering program, allows private companies to collaborate with current students. Together, they will tackle real-world research challenges, setting the stage for future engineering excellence.

Advancing the way we share knowledge

Across campus, technology is transforming how students study and learn. The Francis Harvey Green Library will continue to update and digitally convert more than 800,000 volumes.

At the Center for Financial & Economic Analytics in the College of Business & Public Management, WCU students are now equipped with Bloomberg terminals. With real experience monitoring and analyzing live financial market data, they are better prepared to operate at the top of their fields upon graduation. And planned renovations of the Sturzebecker Health Science Center will highlight the Human Performance Lab.

How can you lead with technology?

This campaign seeks to cement our commitment to technological growth by investing in our reputation for state-of-the-art learning spaces, while arming every graduate with a lasting competitive advantage. With bolder vision for our programs and facilities, WCU will attract more students and faculty — paving the way for continued innovation.

“West Chester University is positioned to become a dynamic educator in healthcare and biomedical engineering. Passionate and diverse, WCU students perform groundbreaking research, create their own companies, and serve local communities across the globe. We must prepare this community of scholars, our future leaders, for meaningful contributions to commercial enterprise – and to the world.”
