Welcome to the Troops to Teachers North Atlantic Region Website

Troops to Teachers is a federally funded Department of Defense program that helps eligible military personnel transition into rewarding careers as K-12 public, charter, or Bureau of Indian Affairs school teachers. Troops to Teachers offices nationwide are able to provide personalized counseling and referral assistance to all military members, past or present, whose last period of service was characterized as honorable. Program registration is open to all Veterans and Service members who have served honorably regardless of time in service who have an interest in teaching in public, charter, Bureau funded and DoDEA K-12 schools. Financial assisance eligibility is determined by the Troops to Teachers national office.

Troops to Teachers provides the following services to registered participants: 

  • Information on the teacher licensure process
  • Reciprocity assistance for those already licensed to teach
  • Referral for employment and job search assistance
  • Financial assistance for eligible participants
